2. How much money can I expect to save on fuel by converting my car to LPG autogas?
fahrmitgas.de: The current price differences between LPG autogas and gasoline offers a great savings potential. LPG prices are much less subject to spikes than those of gasoline and that cost advantage can be expected to continue on a similar level in the future.
3. Does my car produce less power running on autogas?
fahrmitgas.de: Our long-term experience from converting thousands of cars to autogas operation shows no noticeable difference between the two modes of operation. Performance remains unchanged.
4. Does the fuel consumption differ between gasoline and autogas operation?
fahrmitgas.de: Depending on the vehicle, fuel consumption during autogas operation remains the same or increases just slightly by ten to 15 percent, under identical driving conditions. The lower cost of LPG autogas typically results in a sizeable reduction in fuel costs.
5. Will my car’s emissions classification change after the conversion?
fahrmitgas.de: LPG autogas burns cleaner than gasoline and reduces CO2 emissions by some 15 percent. Professional conversions such as our fahrmitgas.de LPG autogas systems are certified according to ECE R115 norm and meet the same emission criteria as the vehicle running on gasoline. After the conversion your car will qualify for the identical tax rate as the production car and for the same emission-class tags.
6. Where can I buy LPG autogas?
fahrmitgas.de: At the end of June 2008 there were more than 4,000 LPG autogas filling stations in Germany alone. The network of stations is expanding all over the world. In many European countries the network is already of a similar density as it is in Germany.
7. What do I do if I can’t find an LPG autogas station while traveling?
fahrmitgas.de: All vehicles equipped with a fahrmitgas.de LPG autogas system offer dual-mode operation. If the LPG autogas runs out, the system automatically reverts to gasoline operation and you can continue your travels using gasoline from the standard tank in your vehicle.
8. How safe is a car with LPG autogas conversion?
fahrmitgas.de: Conversions certified according to ECE R115 norm such as our fahrmitgas.de LPG autogas systems are as safe as the production car. The LPG tank, most often housed in the spare-wheel well, is much more crash-resistant than the normal fuel tank. All components undergo rigorous testing before certification. Installation and service is performed exclusively by highly trained and certified personnel. The days when LPG cars were barred from public parking garages are as good as gone.
9. How fast can I recoup my investment after converting my car to autogas?
fahrmitgas.de: The amortization period of the conversion depends on many factors, most important of which are the specific fuel consumption and the number of kilometers driven every year. In most cars the lower fuel costs pay for the conversion after just 40,000 kilometers.
10. What types of warranties are available for converting to a fahrmitgas.de LPG autogas system?
fahrmitgas.de: If the vehicle is sold by the manufacturer equipped with a fahrmitgas.de LPG autogas system, the full manufacturer’s warranty remains in effect. For all other vehicles we offer a comprehensive warranty package in cooperation with our partner CarGarantie.
